In the Beginning

Mobilitechs’ owner and founder Mike Sutton has always been the guy people turn to when computers go bust. When he visits out-of-state family members, they hand him their crashed hard drives. Evenings at friends’ houses often turn into router configuration sessions. When a neighbor can’t install Skype, he’s hopping the fence to figure it out.

Mobilitechs got its start when Mike realized that his friends and family weren’t the only ones in need of IT support. After living in Lancaster County for years, he knew that plenty of area businesses had major IT needs but couldn’t justify the cost of a full-time, in-house IT person. He started Mobilitechs in 2008 to address the needs of small- to medium-sized businesses in Reading, Lancaster and Harrisburg who needed secure networks and IT support, but didn’t have the time or knowledge to do it for themselves.

Mike has been a technology pro since 1995. Mike has an extensive technology background, from his time as a Marine Corps-trained electronics repair technician in the military to his current position of leading the Mobilitechs team and providing computer support services to small- to medium-sized businesses. Mike has worked as a programmer and has extensive database web development expertise. He’s a former Marine, an alumnus of the University of Delaware, and a former IT manager of a local web design firm.
